So this last week has been pretty good. We have done a lot of knocking. I don't really like knocking all that much. I don't mind knocking in town, with the houses, but my companion loves to knock apartments. but I hate it. Our mission Pres. told us it's a lot more effective if you can try to get to know the person a little before you start talking about the gospel and such. So when you knock on houses, you can ask them about their car, or some weird statue they have on their porch, or anything like that. I feel like a lot more comfortable that way. but when you knock on apartments, you just say hi "I'm a missionary let me in" and they usually say no. Figures. Theres not really anything to start the conversation with. but its just something I need to work on I guess. So yes, a lot of knocking this week. We did find a few people that are going to have us come back. We met a nice family. We introduced the idea of life after death, and eternal families, they got way excited. I think they will go far. We have been teaching a guy named Robert. haha he's a crazy old guy. I don't remember if I told you about him or not. He just had surgery, and he's a baptist. He makes sure we know it. He loves talking about religion ! When we have lessons with him, and we make a statements, he stops us and said whether he agrees or disagrees. Then if he disagrees, we explain it till he can agree. So he is really easy to teach haha. He's cool. When we first met him he said we could come in, but he is never changing from a baptist. By the time we left he said "I'm not converting, but you never know what god has in store for us". We did some service with Moe, the one that we baptized about a month ago. He volunteers at "The Caring Place" its like a DI's. He drives the truck and delivers food and stuff. One day he delivered food to this old home bound lady. He noticed that she had a bunch of leaves in her yard so he called us up and we went and racked them up. That was really fun. Moe is an awesome guy.
This morning I woke up pretty sick :( I haven't been feeling good these last few days actually. I'm taking it easy today.
I'm going on exchanges with the District Leader tonight, we'll switch back tomorrow night. We have a cool District Leader. Elder Shipley. He's from Utah. He's going with my companion, and I'm going with his companion Elder Barr. Elder Barr is cool to. He's only a transfer older than me. He's from Anaheim California. It should be fun. Me and Elder Barr are going to work up in his area. I'm excited.
I'm doing good here, everything is going good. I'm sure I'll be feeling better soon, so don't worry about me. Thanks for all that you do, tell everyone I said hi.
I love you!
Elder Allen
